Hi everyone!

I hope you all having an amazing weekend!  I've been looking for warm coats here to prepare for a German winter without much success.  It's a bit difficult when we are heading into the peak of our summer.  I'm thinking about waiting until I get there to go and stock up on boots and cosy jackets.  What do you think?  

We're having a fun day with friends today and I can't wait to spend time with them.  What are you doing this weekend?

My week in Pictures

This week in pictures seems to portray two things very clearly:  food and travel are on my mind.

1.  Theeee most delicious homemade ice coffee on a hot day.
2.  Romantic picnic by a river in Magaliesberg.
3.  Our luxurious room at Valley Lodge (highly recommended)
4.  Clear blue sky to sit and stare at.
5.  Isn't he adorable??  Flowers - just because...
6.  ...and he brings me McFlurries when I study.  It must be love.

8.  Car's packed for a weekend away.
9.  Best way to come home after a long day of lectures.  Thanks Dad!!!

On an exciting note our tickets to Germany and the Netherlands are booked!!!  I am so excited I'm unable to control myself.  Thank you to all the readers who have offered advice for this trip and please let me know if you have any suggestions for things to see or restaurants or anything fun in Amsterdam, Berlin or Munich.

In the trees

Nothing makes me as happy as seeing a whole lot of trees and being able to walk through them.  This beautiful area was delightful and called for a quick photo-op before the battery died.  There were a whole lot of pine cones lying around and I think I should go and collect some for Christmas centre pieces soon.

I hope you all had a great weekend.  I know I did!  Grant and I went to Magaliesberg's beautiful hotel, Valley Lodge where we had a picnic laid out for us, took walks along a river holding hands, got massages and sat in the spa pool.  It was so good to take some time out to relax and enjoy each other's company.

Hi everyone!

I'm finally done with all my tests so I'm taking a little break from studying and hopefully I can get more blogging time in!  Grant and I went to one of our favourite restaurants last night, Loveata in Senderwood.  The food is delicious!  It was my gran's 87th birthday on Wednesday so we've got a family birthday celebration tonight that I'm so excited about.  She is the most remarkable and most beautiful old lady, she's my pillar of strength and a best friend!

Thank you for all your tips for a trip to Germany.  It looks possible that we will be going to Berlin and Munich and then to Amsterdam and the Hague (my ultimate dream come true) in the Netherlands.  If you have any more tips or experiences around these places please share them with me!  I'd love to know.

Do you speak German?

It's Friday!!!  Happy Friday everyone!

  I'm contemplating a trip to Germany in December.  I can't help but imagine the Christmas carols, the smells of cinnamon and pine, fires, Glühwein and maybe some snowflakes. Have you been to Germany over Christmas?  I would love any advice on what to do or see if you have!

A lot of Love to Give

It was my sister's confirmation this weekend and that called for a family affair.  Its always good to celebrate together and this was a special occassion.  Jasmine and I ended up with pretty much exact copies of the same outfit but we're both loving full skirts and sheer blouses at the moment.  We took these pictures before heading out to a huge amount of Italian food for lunch.  Yum!
